Organisation

I like the concept of being organised, I am just not a very organised person. I actually suck pretty bad at keeping things together and in their right places--my house is a disaster, but at least I can find most everything I am looking for. I wanted to give this idea a try, so I searched for desktop organisation and found this lovely gem. Well, it was different colours so I changed the colour scheme to more match my chosen colours for my brand. I used the original for my writing account here on my laptop (you can take a look here).

Since I wanted to tailor this to my workflow, this was perfect because it gave me the option of adding my own labels. Most of the ones I found online already had labels, or horrible colours or a terrible layout. This was just excellent for what I was looking for.

Organisation
Pretty much where I keep forms, documents, guides, and contracts. This box is to keep all of my business papers organised, kind of like a filing cabinet!

The Centre Boxes (Import/Cull, Post-Process, and Upload)
These three boxes or for the different steps in my Editing Process:
  • Import/Cull is the first step, where I get everything off the memory card, imported into Lightroom, and rated; then I'll remove the unwanted images and move the ones that made the cut to...
  • Post-Processing. These are the files that I'll be editing and working with for the final step...
  • Uploading. This is the final step in my process, uploading to a gallery (understand that this is my general process, and different sessions have different steps). This is also the step where I would be creating the sneak peek and planning my blog post around different choice pictures.

Client Files
Here is the space where I keep my present and upcoming client information, in folders with their LAST NAME as the label. I'll keep contracts, questionnaires, checklists, sneak peeks, and any other information in these folders.

Website/Blog
My last little box, this is where I have my blog planning sheets and my To-Blog list. Pretty simple.

Off in the corner is my Trash Bin, the desolate place of no return.

The rest of my filing system is horrible and scary and it makes me want to cry. I want to organise it, but even right now it feels like a bit too much, really daunting.
